Leonardo Zuno, M.M. (SMU) in piano performance/pedagogy and music theory,
experienced DFW area musician and teacher.

Leonardo Zuno was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He has been a music teacher since age 15, when he discovered his passion for teaching. Mr. Zuno was a part of the Dallas/Music faculty from 2005 to 2015.  Recently, he was Director of Spanish Choirs at the Cathedral Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Guadalupe.  He also taught Elementary Music Teacher at Uplift Luna Preparatory in downtown Dallas and at Dallas/Music, a community music school in Snider Plaza.  Mr. Zuno is currently the Director of Music at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Allen, TX.

Mr. Zuno is a graduate of SMU, having obtained two master's degrees (in piano performance and pedagogy and in music theory). He has taught courses as adjunct lecturer at the Meadows School of the Arts in SMU in the areas of music theory, aural skills, and class piano to both graduate and undergraduate students. Also at SMU, he has taught theory and keyboard skills classes at SMU's prestigious Institute for Young Pianists since 2008. Mr. Zuno has been a board member for Dallas Music Teachers Association since 2006 and has also volunteered with Texas Music Teachers Association's theory advisory committee. He frequently adjudicates around the DFW metroplex in festivals and contests. In the fall of 2015, Mr. Zuno is finishing his doctoral studies in music theory at the University of North Texas, where he is a Teaching Fellow, teaching undergraduate music theory courses.

He loves being married to his wife and is blessed to have a beautiful son.  In his free time, Mr. Zuno enjoys running and cycling, cooking and entertaining friends, and going to live music events of all types.
